How booking and marketing on Legwork work, in plain words. Last updated 1 November 2026.

Who we are

Legwork is run by Steven Denchev in the United Kingdom. Contact: support@spacedrecall.app. Legwork puts startups in touch with independent marketers who tell people about their apps in person. We do not promise any number of downloads.

Booking, for startups

• You choose a budget and a price per download of at least £3.50. Your booking pays for up to the number of downloads the budget buys.
• When you book, the whole budget is held on your card through Stripe. Nothing is taken at that point.
• You add a campaign link for your app from App Store Connect, so each marketer gets their own App Store link and their downloads are counted apart.
• After the session you enter each marketer's first-time downloads as shown in App Store Connect (your app, Analytics, Acquisition, Campaigns). We then take the number of downloads times your price, never more than the budget, and let the rest of the hold go. The counts you enter must be the ones App Store Connect shows; we may ask for a screenshot.
• A card hold lasts about a week. If marketers have gone out and no counts are in the day before the hold runs out, we take the held amount in full and refund the difference as soon as you enter the counts.
• You can cancel at any time before a marketer takes a spot; the hold is let go and nothing is charged. Once a spot is taken, the booking runs to its counts.
• An unpaid booking is cancelled after two days. If no marketer takes a spot before the hold runs out, the hold is let go and nothing is charged.

Marketing, for marketers

• You must be 18 or over and able to work in the United Kingdom. You take part as an independent marketer, not an employee, and you are responsible for your own tax.
• You earn the booking's price for every first-time download the App Store counts through your own link, up to what the booking's budget buys, less your share of the card and payout costs. We pay by bank transfer within 3 working days of the counts.
• Downloading an app yourself, on friends' or family's phones, or in any way other than a person freely choosing to, in order to be paid for it, is fraud. We will not pay for it, we may take back what was paid, and we will remove you.
• Be honest about the app and follow the startup's brief. Be polite, take no for an answer, and do not block the way or follow anyone. Show your code on your phone: some London areas need a council licence to hand out leaflets or flyers.
• A spot can be given back while the booking is running. Startups rate marketers, and ratings decide who is offered bookings.

Fees

For now Legwork takes no fee. The card payment and payout costs come out of each download's price, and the rest goes to the marketer. We will say so on this page, and to you, before that changes.

If something goes wrong

Email support@spacedrecall.app and we will look into it. If the counts are disputed, App Store Connect's numbers decide. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. These terms are under the law of England and Wales.
